Guru Dr. Bijaya Kumar Jena is a renowned Senior Vocalist and Research Person in the field of Odissi Vocal Music & Odissi Dance Music.He has performed as a solo vocalist in the many cultural programmes to propagate Odissi Music at state & abroad like USA, German, Italy, South America etc..As an accomplished solo vocalist produced many disciples in his own personal guidance in the field of Odissi Music.He has composed innumerable Odissi Dance items such as Pallavi, Dance Dramas, Abhinaya and Mangala Charan and also individual raga compositions and solo items for the legendary Dance Gurus like Padma Bibhusan Late Kelu Charan Mohapatra, Guru Shri Late Gangadhar Pradhan, Padmashre Aurna Mohanty, Guru Ratikanta Mohapatra & Dr. Chitrakrishan Murty, USA etc..He is an exponent in the field of specialisation in Odissi classical music (Dhrubapadanga, Raganga, Bhabanga and Natyanga),Geeta Gobinda, Chhanda, Champu, Odia devotional songs and light classical odia songs. He has published valuable & notable books such as ‘Sangeet Chandrika’ & ‘Odissi Sangeet Gayana Paddhati’ for the scholars and music lovers also.He is an approved ‘A’ Grade artist of All India Radio and Door Darshan.He has been honoured with many awards like ‘Sangeet Siromani’ ‘Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana’ ‘Chinta O Chetana Rastriya Samman’ and ‘Central Sangeet Natak Academy’ etc. at State and National level.
